Acupuncture is a system of healing that originated in China over 3000 years ago and has since been adopted and developed in many parts of the world.  Acupuncture involves the insertion of fine needles into specific locations on the body known as acupuncture points.  These points lie on a complex system of energy channels throughout the body. Insertion of needles stimulates the body’s energy or ‘Qi’ to rebalance the body, boost the immune system, and aid its natural healing response.

While considered a useful tool in pain management, it is also effective in the treatment of a wide range of illnesses. Insertion of the needles is virtually painless and the sensation has been described as tingling. Following treatment people find it easier to relax and experience deeper more restful sleep. Acupuncture is part of the Chinese medicine healing system and works very well with Herbal Medicine and other associated therapies.

Reiki is a form of alternative medicine known as energy healing. The spiritual healing art of Reiki works by channeling positive energy into your body. Reiki masters and practitioners typically place their hands on the affected areas of the body that need a boost, and your body takes in the energy to encourage emotional or physical healing.

Sports Massage

Sports Massage is a form of massage involving the manipulation of soft tissue to benefit those doing regular physical activity. Sports massage is designed to assist in correcting problems and imbalances in soft tissue that are caused from repetitive and strenuous physical activity and trauma. The application of sports massage, prior to and after exercise, may enhance performance, aid recovery and prevent injury.

Nutritional therapy

Nutritional therapy is about working with individuals to alleviate and prevent illness and disease, as well as to promote good health, by making dietary recommendations. The focus is on the belief that there are nutritional and biochemical imbalances in the body that lead to ill health.

Physiotherapy is all about helping you to move better. That means everything and anything that can impact on your body’s quality of movement and function, whether that’s to do with injury treatment and rehabilitation, muscle tightness, joint mobility, postural alignment (static and in motion) or performance enhancement. Our physiotherapists goal is to help you return to natural, effective, functional movement and a healthy, happy, pain-free life.

Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of medical conditions. It works with the structure and function of the body, and is based on the principle that the well-being of an individual depends on the skeleton, muscles, ligaments and connective tissues functioning smoothly together.
