Akasha Reform Cardio

Get your heart pumping with Akasha Reform Cardio, a high-energy Pilates session that blends the muscle-toning benefits of reformer Pilates with the fat-burning power of cardio. This dynamic class features a jump board interval workout mixed with Pilates moves, specifically designed to tone and sculpt your abs, legs, and glutes while raising your heart rate. Akasha Reform Gentle

Akasha Reform Gentle is the perfect Pilates class for those returning to exercise, beginners, or anyone with limited mobility due to injury, illness, age, or inactivity. This class focuses on building core strength while enhancing flexibility, particularly in the joints. With regular practice, you’ll experience improvements in strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, alignment, breathing, and posture. Akasha Reform Gentle provides a supportive environment to gently ease you back into fitness, helping you achieve a stronger, more flexible, and balanced body.

Mat Pilates

Akasha 1:1

If you’re new to Pilates, returning to exercise after a break, or recovering from an injury or illness, an Akasha 1:1 session is the perfect way to start. Our expert trainers will work with you at your own pace and level, helping you become familiar with Pilates exercises and techniques. These personalised sessions are also ideal for addressing specific concerns, such as persistent niggles or mobility issues, providing focused attention to ensure you feel comfortable and confident in your practice.

She started Reformer when we launched in 2014 and when we opened the new studio in Ware Vanessa took the plunge to train as an instructor with J Pilates in London. Kelly qualified as an instructor in Pilates, Reformer, Barre and Cadillac with Joanne Cobbe at JPilates in London. Kelly started her practice on the Reformer and hasn’t looked back since. Prior to her Pilates training, Kelly participated in boot camps and gym based exercise, and whilst she loved the sessions, her lower back suffered. Physiotherapy failed and Kelly sought to remedy the problem herself, frequenting Akasha as a client on a regular basis for several years! Teacher training and regular Pilates based sessions have totally rectified her back issues and she maintains her back is now the strongest part of her body! Kelly is dedicated to teaching, which is now her passion, and in her own words, “I’m so excited to be on board, It’s my dream come true!”.

As well as an experienced front desk executive, she is also a qualified personal trainer, Barre instructor, and mat & reformer pilates instructor. Steph is also qualified in Yoga, exercise referral, pre and post-natal and nutrition and weight management.

Tracey had been practicing Pilates for more than 10 years when she decided to train as an instructor. She initially signed up for the Mat Pilates instructor course at JPilates in London but was inspired to continue to her Pilates Masters Certificate, which includes The Reformer Collection, Cadillac, Wunda Chair and Barrel Collection. She is passionate about Pilates and continues to be a regular client at Akasha.

Alex has been in the fitness industry for over 25 years. Starting his career as a self defence/martial arts instructor, Alex later graduated in Sports Science and Physical Education followed by Personal Training and Physiology of Exercise. Once Alex started practicing Pilates he realised how it would be possible to apply its principles to everything else he was doing. From running, cycling, lifting weights, or just as it is – Pilates was the missing link. Alex’s sports related qualifications are vast, but include matwork, reformer, advanced nutrition and pre and post natal.

Angie’s journey into the world of Pilates began in 2010 as part of her rehabilitation after surgery.

In 2022, she gained her Pilates instructor qualification under the guidance of Joanne Cobbe of JPilates. Under Joanne’s expert tuition, she has expanded her expertise, completing specialised training in barre, reformer, spine corrector and ladder barrels. She is currently working towards her full certification.

Angie is passionate about the fact that Pilates is for everybody and this led her to also undertake the APPI matwork conversion course, a physiotherapy-led approach to Pilates perfect individuals with injuries or disabilities.

In her classes you can expect a fun, challenging, and safe environment designed to engage and inspire at all levels of ability.

Wendy is a qualified physiotherapist whose main area of expertise is in rehabilitation. She trained at Guys Hospital in London and has over 30 years of experience. She has practised yoga and Pilates intermittently for over 20 years but hasn’t looked back since finding Akasha. Having felt its benefits first hand she decided to train to teach Reformer classes and is passionate about the results that she has witnessed. Her wealth of knowledge further enhances the classes she teaches.
