STUDIO

Where is my nearest studio?

We currently have studios in Ware and Bishop’s Stortford.

How can I contact the studio?

You can call 01279 757633 or email info@akashawellness.co.uk. Team Akasha will be happy to help.

What do I need to bring?

Wear comfortable clothing. Our classes are done in bare feet or you can wear grip socks if you prefer. These are available to purchase at the studio should you require them.

It is optional to bring your own yoga mat. We do provide them at the studio. Please bring a water bottle if required

BOOKING

I want to come along and try a class at Akasha. Where do I start?

Your first class will be £10. We have small classes and experienced instructors so newbies are welcome in any of our classes. However, if you want to try reformer and would prefer to start slowly, then book one of our Akasha Reform Gentle classes. For first time yogis, try our Akasha Classic class.

How do I book a class?

On our website please click ‘Timetables’ or download the Mindbody app, search Akasha Wellness and book from there. If you prefer to speak to someone in person, call our reception and the wonderful Team Akasha will get you sorted.

MEMBERSHIPS

How do I buy classes?

Memberships can be setup online, in Studio or over the phone.

What are monthly memberships?

If you want to come to classes regularly at Akasha, the most cost effective way is to sign up for one of our memberships. Full details are available in our ‘Pricing’ section on the website or pickup a leaflet in Studio.

The Monthly Memberships give you either 4, 8 or unlimited classes per month, also with a number of additional benefits. Our memberships are a rolling contract and require 30 days written notice to cancel.

I don’t want the commitment to a membership so can I pay as I go instead?

Yes absolutely. Our drop in price for reformer is £22 a class and any of our mat classes are £16.

Can I suspend my membership?

If you are injured, your membership can be suspended. We reserve the right to request a letter from your medical practitioner.

If I don’t use my classes one month, can I role them over to the following month?

Yes, no problem. Your classes won’t expire until the 31st December each year. The system doesn’t roll the classes automatically from one month to the next but drop us an email and Team Akasha will be happy to do that for you.

How do I cancel my membership?

We require 30 days written notice to Akasha.

CLASSES

How long are the classes?

Class times are 60 minutes. If it is your first class with us, please try to arrive 10 minutes early so we can get you to complete our health questionnaire (if you haven’t already done so online) and introduce you to your instructor.

What if I have any injuries?

You must tell your instructor at the start of the class if you have an injury. The instructor will then be able to keep a closer eye on you and make modifications where necessary. If you have an injury, please consult with a medical professional before attending your class at Akasha. If you have a serious allergy, please inform us on reception.

Do you offer private sessions?

Yes, if you would prefer a one to one session with one of our instructors this can be arranged for you.

How long do I have to cancel?

We have a 12 hour cancellation policy, anything over this timeframe will be marked as a late cancellation and will result in the loss of your class. If you aren’t well or have some sort of an emergency which means you are unable to cancel outside the 12 hours, please come and have a chat and we will see what we can do.

If you are an unlimited member and late cancel more than 3 classes in a month you will be charged £15 per late cancel thereafter.

What is a recurring booking?

If you are a member with us, subject to availability, you are entitled to a recurring booking at Akasha. This means that we will book you into the same class each week indefinitely. If you can’t make one week, you simply cancel your class (remembering the 12 hour rule!) and the class will drop back into your account. 4 class memberships are entitled to one recurring booking, 8 class memberships are entitled to 2 weekly recurring bookings and if you are unlimited you can have 3.

Do you operate a waiting list?

Yes. If a class is full you can add yourself to the waiting list for the class. If a space becomes available you will drop into the class and receive an email to say you have secured a place in the class. Once you have secured a place in the class, our usual cancellation policy will apply.
